You See Half Jesus
How Revelation 19 and Psalm 45 Ignite Fearless Love and Unshakable Mission
The Full Picture of Jesus
I can't remember exactly what I was going through when it happened. All I know is, the morning after a run, I had a vision — like something out of Gladiator or straight from the heavens. I don’t know if it was triggered by Revelation 19:11–14 or a Christian Stanfill song about Jesus descending from heaven — but it was the most vivid, awe-inspiring, soul-shaking vision I’ve ever had in my life.
Honestly, one day, I might even get a tattoo to remember it.
The Vision
Just like Revelation 19 describes:
"Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True... He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God..."
There He was — Jesus. The terrifyingly incredible, awe-inspiring, justice-filled, mercy-fueled King.
Riding through the clouds on a white horse.
And I was there too — galloping with Him, beside Him — fully alive in His unveiled glory.
What Do You Think About When You Think About Jesus?
We could break this vision down in a thousand ways. But I want to use it as a doorway to a more profound question:
When you think about Jesus, what picture fills your mind?
In much of the West—and for most of my life—the image I was given focused solely on the suffering Savior: the cross, Calvary, the Lamb. It was beautiful and true. But rare were the mentions of the returning King—the One riding in majesty, wielding a sword of justice, terrifying His enemies, commanding heaven's armies.
Why does this matter?
Because if we don't see Him in fullness, we’re worshiping a fraction of who He is.
And that affects everything.
The Original Audience — And the Prophetic Poem
Psalm 45 was originally written as a wedding song, probably for a Davidic king. But the Spirit wove in something far more: it’s also poetry for the Messiah.
“In your majesty, ride out victoriously
for the cause of truth and meekness and righteousness…
Your arrows are sharp in the heart of the king’s enemies…” (Psalm 45:4–5)
The Israelites longed for a king to defend the poor, establish justice, and conquer evil.
They saw shadows which kept their hope alive and faith rooted in the person to come.
We have the person, now and forever.
Jesus didn’t just come once.
He is coming again.
And this time, not as a baby, but as the Commander of Heaven's armies.
The Lion and the Lamb
Today, let’s worship Jesus not only as the Lamb who was slain but also as the Lion of Judah.
Not only as the Suffering Servant, but also as the Coming King.
If we neglect this part of His nature:
Our worship becomes shallow.
Our reverence becomes casual.
Our obedience becomes duty instead of devotion.
Our mission loses urgency.
Psalm 45 reminds us:
"Your throne, O God, is forever and ever… You love righteousness and hate wickedness…"
Revelation 19 echoes it:
"On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords."
This is the same Jesus.
The One who speaks grace and pierces hearts.
The One crowned with many crowns — whose return will stop the world.
A Wild, Free Love
This full vision of Jesus transforms our worship.
It turns quiet songs into whole-body praise.
I saw it in my 2½-year-old daughter recently — dancing wildly, laughing without restraint. She didn’t care who was watching. She just moved with joy.
That’s how I want to respond to the King.
When my wife and I show our kids our whole selves—not just authority but vulnerability, conviction, and love—they develop reverence for us, not out of fear but because they know us fully.
The same is true with God.
When you see Jesus in His fullness — not just Savior, but Sovereign — your allegiance shifts.
Obedience becomes joy.
Mission becomes non-negotiable.
The Never Finished Challenge
Let Psalm 45 and Revelation 19 reframe your vision.
✅ Meditate on Psalm 45 and Revelation 19.
✅ Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Jesus to you — not only as the crucified Savior, but as the King, the Warrior, and the Bridegroom.
✅ Journal what He shows you.
✅ Write down one area of your life where you’ve recently seen Him more clearly.
The vision I had wasn’t just for me.
It’s for you.
Because in Christ, that will be you.
You were made to follow the King who cannot be defeated.
Let Psalm 45 create your vision.
Let Revelation 19 ignite your hope.
Let Jesus be more than you imagined — and everything you need.
Because the full picture of Jesus doesn’t just inspire.
It transforms.
What does today say about Jesus?
It is whole-body gripping to even imagine the full picture of Jesus we’re given in Scripture. And still — that’s just the glimpse. I can only imagine what it will be like in person. One day, we will stand before the throne. The King of glory will judge every deed with perfect righteousness. But here’s the unfathomable news — Jesus will be there. And with every charge brought against us, He’ll step forward and say:
“I covered that one.”
“That sin is mine.”
“I paid for that, too.”
What a King.
What a Savior.
What a Servant.
Thank You, Jesus. 🙌👑🩸
