Three Powerful Stories, One King
Day 3—You are always worshiping. The question is who?

The First Story
Jesus is Lord over the supernatural dark forces (Ephesians 6:12; Mark 5:1-20)
The story:
The man filled with a legion of demons (many) is untamable.
Unbreakable chains shatter. The people around him fail to control him.
Jesus walks towards this dragon-like monster on a mountain.
Immediately, the demons recognize him and run in fear to Jesus, bowing down.
They immediately recognize the “Son of the Most High God.”
They try to negotiate, and Jesus commands.
The result? The demonic flee to their impending doom, and the man is miraculously restored, from an unapproachable dragon to an approachable son of the King.
He is given a mission and purpose: to go and tell of the mercies of God.
He is Lord of the dark forces.
Story Two
Jesus is Lord over sickness and disease (Mark 5:25-34).
The story:
Could you imagine bleeding for twelve years, and when doctors tried to fix you, it got worse?
Enter the hopeful woman. She was bleeding for twelve years but knew Jesus was near.
Finally, a chance. A moment. A garment.
She pushed through the crowd that labeled her unclean and reached for His garment. Instantly, social shame, uncleanliness, and suffering are gone.
How? Jesus.
Yes, Jesus said her faith healed her, but as we see throughout scripture, it is God who gives you the nudge—to believe and draw near—and then fills you with the power to continue (John 6:44, 1 Corinthians 12:3; Ephesians 2:8-9).
Jesus pauses in the middle of a massive crowd and calls her daughter. He gives her peace, not just health, restoring her dignity and giving her belonging.
Is your body broken? Take heart. He is Lord over it.
Three
Jesus is Lord over the last enemy (Mark 5:21-24, 35-43; 1 Corinthians 15:26).
The story:
Jairus is an influential leader, yet he falls in trepidation and humility at the feet of Jesus.
Bad news has arrived: “Your daughter is dead.”
The people ask Jairus not to bother the Teacher.
To Jairus, Jesus was not a teacher. He was Lord.
He speaks to the child, and she rises from the dead (John 1).
Death does not get the final word. The King of Kings does.
These three stories tell us:
The demonic is unclean.
The woman is unclean.
The dead body was unclean.
And Jesus, the righteous Son of God, makes what is unclean not only clean but purpose-filled.
So where does that leave you and me?
Never Finished Challenge: One Authority, Reach, Hope
If hell knows His authority and trembles, you can stop treating sin, bondage, and oppression like they are equal powers.
You don’t need a stronger personality.
You need a stronger Savior!
James 4:8 calls us to draw near, and He will draw near to us. Ask Him to help you draw near, and when you sense a nudge or direction—like opening the Bible, going to church, making that phone call—do it quickly.
Genuine faith is not performing. It is reaching for Jesus even when you feel unworthy!
His goal is not to fix every problem.
It is to restore people.
When problems arise, write down three things you are thankful for. Your perspective will lift, which allows you to receive restoration (Philippians 4:6-7).
The worst report is not the final word.
Jesus does not stand far off in suffering.
He says, “Come to Me,” and He gives rest as you take His yoke, because His burden is light (Matthew 11:30).
He is unfathomable comfort in grief.
And He is also Lord of the grave.
So, stop going to the bottle, the money, the golf course, the TV, the phone, or anything else for relief first. These things may numb you for a moment, but they cannot heal you. They steal hunger for God, and they stunt long-term transformation.
What Does Today Say About God?
38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[k] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)
So then, may the Creator of the universe draw you in to Him. May the works of His hands and the meditation of His thoughts be of the highest priority.
You are His.
And nothing and no one can stand in the way of that.
What a Father!
What a Friend!
What a King!
Thank you, Jesus.
