Supernatural Peace + Shattered Expectations
For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot , And like a root out of dry ground; He has no stately form or majestic splendor That we would look at Him, Nor appearance that we would be attracted to Him. Isaiah 53:2 AMP
How Do You Write the Impossible After Living An Impossible Life?
How do you write It Is Well with My Soul when the sea swallows your wife and daughters?
How do you pen Amazing Grace after living through the storm—both on the sea and in your soul?
How does supernatural peace enter the room—like a whisper from the Creator Himself—to a 14-year-old boy on the edge of ending everything? (That was me)
What Made Jesus Different?
There was something about Jesus that made broken people whole.
And there was something about Jesus that made powerful people hate Him.
The Shocking Rejection
What’s shocking?
God Himself walked among them.
He ate the bread they baked.
He sat across the table.
And still—they rejected Him.
Are We Any Different?
Even today—
Even after He rescues us,
Even after He enters our hearts and rewrites our stories—
We reject Him. Again. And again. And again.
The Expectation Trap
They wanted a King.
A warrior.
A Messiah who would overthrow the empire.
Instead?
The empire thought they overthrew Him.
The Flip
But that cross?
That wasn’t Rome’s victory.
That was Heaven invading Earth.
That was a King flipping the world upside down.
Never Finished Challenge - Give God the Pen
Surrender your life—
Making God the priority (by talking and listening to Him—reading His Word, observing creation, community, music, life..)
Let God rewrite the lyrics.
And watch—your life will sing a song only Heaven could write.
What Does Today Say About God?
He is an expectation destroyer.
But the crumbles do not sit there isolated and abandoned from His hammer. Instead, in ways I cannot truly fathom, the pieces are put together to display a clearer picture of who He is:
Love,
Mercy,
Grace,
Compassion,
All things perfectly good.
And the picture sings a song only someone like the Creator of the universe could pen.
Thank you, Jesus.
