"I am Angry and Fired up!"
Good! So was Paul. These emotions were fuel for his mission!
“That I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart” (Romans 9:2 AMP).
Paul provides profound insight into God’s decision to preserve Israel for the purpose of saving both Gentiles and fellow Jews. As reflected in verse 2, this responsibility weighs heavily on him. Chapter 9 vividly illustrates God’s sovereign grace, actively intervening in humanity to fulfill His divine purpose—much like a loving father stepping in to prevent his children from falling off a cliff. It also highlights His sovereign mercy, desiring that all come to know Him (1 Timothy 2:4; 2 Peter 3:9).
What Does This Mean for Us?
What is the burden on your heart? I’ve often heard it said that your God-given purpose and potential mission can be found where your heart is burdened or “fired up.”
My Never Finished Challenge:
1. Identify Your Burden
What breaks your heart or keeps you up at night?
What do you feel compelled to address or fix, even if it seems overwhelming?
2. Align It with Your Gifts
What talents, skills, or experiences has God given you to address this burden?
How do these strengths uniquely equip you to make a difference?
3. Channel the Burden into Action
How can you translate the weight of your burden into tangible steps?
What can you start doing now that aligns with this calling, even if it feels small?
4. Trust God’s Timing and Provision
God, in His love and mercy, does not call the equipped. Instead, He equips the called.
How can you remain faithful in the small steps, trusting God to provide the resources and clarity needed for the bigger picture?
What Does Today Say About God?
Today reminds me that God is intimately and lovingly involved with humanity. Each of us is uniquely created, and in our uniqueness, He opens our eyes to see burdens that stir our hearts, aligning a mission to those burdens. His plan is perfect because He is perfect, and His ways are best for my life because He is sovereign and loving.
