That was really powerful James thank you for sharing it reminds me of how much we need the steady hand of Jesus in a world that’s constantly shifting truly He is the same yesterday today and forever Hebrews 13:8 I also love how you pointed out Psalm 102 being echoed in Hebrews 1 it shows us that Christ really is the eternal anchor of our souls Hebrews 6:19 When everything around us changes we can cling to His promises knowing that His Word stands forever Isaiah 40:8 Even when our hearts feel weak His strength carries us 2 Corinthians 12:9 He is our rock our refuge and our fortress in times of uncertainty Psalm 18:2 The more we lean on Him the more we find peace that the world cannot take away John 14:27
Also just reading Psalm 104… He not only creates but also maintains His creation. The chapter summary says, “the Lord’s care is the source of our joy.”
Yet, we often strive to manipulate our own joy—which always leads to burn out.
How do you work hard and still enjoy and revere the joy of the Lord?
🌿 It’s true we often wear ourselves out chasing joy on our own terms, but real joy comes from resting in God’s care. Psalm 16:11 says You make known to me the path of life you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand For me, working hard is important, but I’ve learned to surrender the results to Him and let His presence fuel me. Nehemiah 8:10 reminds us, The joy of the Lord is your strength When I remember that, even in busy seasons, I can both give my best and stay refreshed because my strength and joy aren’t self-made they’re gifts from Him.
