God is a Way Maker
give Him the pen to write your story
The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, “Take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.” The next morning some Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul. More than forty men were involved in this plot (Acts 23:11-13).
Paul stands before the Pharisees and Sadducees, attempting and failing to connect with them. He remained bold in his testimony but received such powerful hatred for it that he had to be evacuated by Roman soldiers. Later that night, God appeared to Paul with encouraging words in the above verse. These timely words from God fueled him for the next part of his journey, where his life would be threatened again.
Observations and Applications:
Wordly words don’t carry any weight or conclusions - prime example above. When darkness infiltrates the narrative, disunity and chaos result - a never-satisfying solution will be tried and found wanting. Eternal words plant seeds and carry eternal weight. Connect to the Author and speak about and for the Author; no matter your environment, the atmosphere will be transformed.
God has timely fuel for any journey. God’s got words for you. It is our job to receive, listen and obey. The fuel lies in the Obedience.
Never Finished Challenge:
No matter the narrative over your life, God has you. Give Him the pen, and stop trying to write your own story. Begin with understanding. Read His word daily to understand Him, and when you feel a conviction to do something, do it and don’t look back.
What Did I Understand about God today:
He is intimately involved in our lives. There were plots to kill Paul, anger, and an impossible way out (in the eyes of the world), but God effortlessly and divinely orchestrated a path for Paul to get to Rome to deliver the gospel. He is a loving Father and the Sovereign Author of my life.
